Beautifully detailed, containing lots of original and historically important parts, a 1972 911, presented in 2.8 RSR specification.

Built in Germany in 2005 by a renowned Porsche Specialist, the chassis was stripped to bare metal, and prepared to exacting standards. The bodywork is painted a period colur of ‘Viper Green’ and the vehicle carries a UK MSA HTP and FIA homologation paperwork

With a weight of 980KG, this makes for a truly exciting machine !

The specification of the vehicle is detailed as follows

Chassis

Originally a 1972 E chassis, featuring lightweight composite front and rear bumpers, front wings and bonnet, with period correct extended rear arches. Plexiglass is used for the side and rear windows, and a front heated screen ensure visibility in inclement conditions. A bespoke lightweight motorsport wiring loom is fitted, with motorsport connectors throughout. A ‘through the bonnet’ central fill 100L fuel tank is fitted, along with a period correct strut brace, welded to the front turrets.

Suspension and brakes

Torsion bar suspension, with 19mm front and 26mm rear, combined with Sport Bilstein dampers. The geometry settings have been optimized with fast road settings and cornerweighted.

A set of 917 brake calipers with four pistons operating on slotted/floating discs front and rear, with correct ‘RSR’ style park-brake assembly.

Wheels and tyres

Genuine Fuchs alloys in the traditional size of 9J front and 11J rear, are painted in the ‘petalled’ RSR style. Tyres are Historic specification Michelin TB15.

Engine and Gearbox

A stunning recreation of the period Mechanical Fuel injected RSR engine. Capacity of 3.0, built from an original set of aluminium Carrera 3.0 cases, the engine features many historically correct detail features, combined with a set of high butterfly intake manifolds and 12-plug distributor. RSR style manifolds (without heating system), are mated to a final silencer, and create an incredible sound

The gearbox has been fitted with competition close ratios, and a ZF limited slip differential, combined with the WEVO gear selection upgrade for positive shifting
